| The Lighting Fair in Tokyo was almost exclusively an LED fair. LED solutions on display included residential light fittings and technical light fittings for both internal and external applications. The Tokyo fair demonstrated very clearly the fundamental structural change taking place in the lighting industry as a result of the focus on LED: In addition to the well-known lamp manufacturers, companies originally from other sectors are now active in the lighting industry, having already built up considerable knowledge in the field of LED. These companies were interested in talking to BJB for several reasons: as a supplier of solutions in the LED field, as a cooperation partner, as a mediator for contacts within the lamp and lighting industry, and as a member in numerous LED research projects. Aside from the subject of “LED”, a cooperative project between BJB and NEC also attracted attention. This project focuses on the circular lamp which is very popular in Japanese households. BJB has developed a special lampholder for this application. BJB also presented a wide range of T5 products. These included products with rotation aids, which enable a particularly small and compact luminaire design to be achieved. In the “HID” field, with PGJ5, G8.5, GU6.5 and GX10 products, BJB showed a comprehensive and continuously improved range to meet the various requirements of modern shop lighting. |
