| In accordance with the global trend, the focus of the Lighting Fair in Guangzhou, China was also on innovations offering increased energy efficiency. With 1,500 exhibitors from all fields of lighting technology, the fair in China is the largest in Asia. The LED field is in particular demand and BJB presented connectors for starboards which eliminate the need to solder the LED. Customers showed considerable interest in this development. For shop lighting applications, HID lamps continue to dominate the Asian market. BJB presented developments for lamps from all well-known manufacturers, including the G8.5, which now has push-wire terminals. GR14q for compact fluorescent lamps also scored highly with the Asian visitors in terms of energy efficiency: With a light output of 80 lumen/watt, it is the most energy-efficient CFL system currently on the market. Many well-known lamp manufacturers also presented so-called “retrofit lamps” at the fair in China. These are lamps in the form of Edison or T5/T8 lamps, but equipped with LEDs. The main reason why these products attract a great deal of attention is that the luminaire manufacturers can continue to use their existing designs. |
