More exhibitors but fewer visitors – that was the net result for Guangzhou International Lighting. Taking place as it did so close to Light + Building, the fair attracted about eleven per cent fewer trade and professional visitors this year. Nevertheless, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is still the largest lighting fair in Asia. The main focus of the fair was on innovations in the field of LED – almost all exhibitors showed developments in of for this technology. The majority of trade visitors were from Asia and there was particular interest in retrofit lamps and retrofit solutions for various areas of application: For example, numerous manufacturers had LED fluorescent lamps with T8 bases on offer. Spotlights accounted for a significant proportion of the product range based on LED technology and there were a wide variety of individual solutions in this field. It was also noticeable that many companies were working on solutions for panel lights, with the light being fed into the panel from the side. BJB’s appeal for interchangeability in LED modules is gaining increasing support in Asia. The BJB booth was not only one of the most visually striking in the component manufacturers’ hall. The number of visitors to the booth was also very high. BJB’s presentation of the ADS.ONE 2.0 wiring system was a real highlight: There were crowds of visitors present whenever the system was being demonstrated. Spectators were clearly convinced by this engineering technology made in Arnsberg: As was the case at previous Asian fairs, BJB sold the demonstration system directly from the booth.
