The fair Interlight Moscow reported the heaviest visitor traffic of its history: 27,458 professional visitors gathered information from 692 exhibitors from 23 countries. In spite of the increase of the total number of visitors and the international mix, a rather more local character of the fair is still noticeable. The focus of the Interlight Moscow was, as anywhere around the world, on innovations in the field of LED technology. However, the BJB experts reported different peculiarities: The mega-trend “LED Technology“ has not yet gained the broad acceptance in Russia as it has in Western Europe and Asia. But the professional visitors are highly interested in LED solutions. BJB came up to this demand at the stand in the German exhibition hall: exclusively LED products were presented. German’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development expects for LED in Russia growth rates of 20 to 30 percent. However, this forecast is to be considered rather long-term, as the downturn in the economy can currently be felt in Russia.
